JUSTICE AND EQUITY STORY TITLE: TIMES IN MAMA’S HOUSE I grew up in Africa, in a small country full of corruption and chaos. Mama always advised me to live a perfect life, not to follow the political steps. Our Leaders treat us with hostility, killing our emotions not to know our rights and where we belong. Mama had always been my best friend, she fought for her right when the inlaws tried to take away her husband’s property, I saw feminism in her, and I saw a heroine fighting for her right. I wish papa was here to witness this act. I came back from school, with no food to eat, no water to drink, and the house was empty. I trekked down to look for mama but all effort was in vain. I asked myself “where on earth has she gone to” a few minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. opening the door, hoping it was mama to my surprise I saw a man standing there, shaking his head in sadness, I didn’t understand, I asked him, “where is my mama?” He looked at me again and said ‘she’s gone I screamed!! I said, no, not possible. I ran outside, my life chattered, and I cried thinking about all memories she left behind. After the burial, I dust up and moved on.
